The Aquatic & Wellness Centre…
Why is a new Aquatic & Wellness Centre Needed?
Saugeen Shores is growing—and thriving. As one of Ontario’s fastest-growing communities, our population has surged by 16% since the last census, nearly triple the provincial average. Families, professionals, retirees, and seasonal visitors are choosing Saugeen Shores for its vibrant lifestyle, natural beauty, and strong sense of community.
Key drivers of growth include:
- A rising number of young families and professionals aged 25–44
- A 30%+ increase in residents aged 65 and older
- Bruce Power’s Life Extension Program, supporting approximately 27,000 jobs
- A booming tourism economy, with year-round population surges
Our current pool is nearing the end of its life cycle—and our community needs a modern, inclusive space to support health, wellness, and connection for all ages and abilities.
That’s why we’re building the Aquatic & Wellness Centre (AWC)—a regional hub for swimming, fitness, recreation, and therapeutic programs. And now, we’re in the final stretch of making it a reality.
Drive for Five: The Final Phase
Thanks to incredible community support, we’ve raised $2.5 million of our $3 million goal. Now, we’re launching the Drive for Five campaign to raise the final $500,000 needed to open the doors.
This isn’t just about a building—it’s about creating a legacy. A place where:
- Children learn to swim
- Seniors find comfort in warm therapeutic waters
- Families, athletes, and neighbours come together to build strength, health, and belonging
Together, we’re building more than a facility—we’re building a future.

With your support, we’re not just building a facility—we’re building a legacy.
